Spaniard Jorge Martin, Pramac Ducati Rider, Crowned MotoGP World Champion

Jorge Martin, riding for Pramac Ducati, clinched the MotoGP World Championship title after the season’s final race in Barcelona. Finishing third was enough for him to maintain his lead and secure his first-ever title.

The final race was relocated to Barcelona following the cancellation of the planned Valencia race due to severe flooding. Martin entered the decisive race with a 24-point lead over the reigning champion, Italy’s Francesco Bagnaia. However, Bagnaia’s victory in Saturday’s sprint race narrowed the gap to 19 points.

Despite the pressure, Martin kept his composure. His goal was to finish in the top nine to guarantee the championship, and his third-place finish comfortably sealed the deal. Bagnaia had a flawless weekend, securing pole position and a dominant race victory, but it wasn’t enough to dethrone Martin.

The final standings reflect Martin’s dominance, with 508 points in total. Bagnaia concluded the season in second place with 498 points, while another Spaniard, Marc Marquez, finished third with 392 points.
